Salvage Dawgs, the DIY Network’s hit reality TV series that chronicles the exploits of Black Dog Salvage co-owners Robert Kulp and Mike Whiteside and their team, recently launched a $49 annual fan club for the show’s followers.
Company marketing materials distributed widely October 19 brand the club as an “official CREW Membership,” whose members “get to enjoy feeling like a member of our Crew while leaving the dirty work and heavy lifting to the Dawgs,” and explained that the team was excited to offer viewers a private look behind the scenes – both on the road and in their shop.
“We received an incredible response from viewers of the show and have talked about starting a fan club for a long time,” explains Christa Stephens, branding and promotions director at Black Dog Salvage. “The pieces finally came together with the opportunity of this text platform and we decided to make it happen.”
Fans join the club by texting SALLY to 48421, and for the $49.99 annual fee receive behind-the-scenes footage shot personally by the Dawgs, a first look at new merchandise, special discounts, access to CREW apparel, invitations to CREW-only events and more.
“The response has been great,” Stephens continued. “We actually just had our first CREW member join from across the pond in Edinburgh. We’ve had a number of people ask if they can give the CREW membership as a gift, so we’re working on that now – stay tuned.”
